THE SEASONAL polar express is headed for the Costa Blanca but there was a sighting of the ‘man in red’ at the ‘Early Bird Christmas Fair’ in Javea on Sunday.

Footfall at the market raised 520€ for charity Friends of the Children of EMAUS – everyone parts with a Euro to enter the festive market at Salones Carrasco – while raffles added a further 200€ to the pot. And supporter Sheena donated a further 400€ from sales from her ‘handmade’ stall. The charity President Carole Saunders said: “She buys off-cuts of material to make all sorts of things from Advent calendars to Christmas aprons, and bottle holders to coasters. She is very clever and the finished items are lovely.” The next Friends of the Children of EMAUS ‘early bird’ fair is at Salones Carrasco in Javea on Sunday 20th November from 11am to 5pm. The Christmas Gift Fair run by the charity is being held on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th, November, at Oliva Nova Centro Ecuestre – a new venue five minutes north of the Ondara commercial centre on the N332, between 11am and 6pm. At all events entry is 1€ to help the EMAUS youngsters – Santa will be present – and for more information contact organiser Lesley Clark at [email protected] or visit www.fcemaus.com.
